This is a great itinerary that visits the very best of the northern historical and adventure circuit whilst offering a few hidden treasures as well. Starting the tour from Bahir Dar, we will drive to Gonder with its medieval castles and then drive to the Simien Mountains National Park (the highest point in Ethiopia).

Itinerary
A journey to Gondar starts after breakfast by traveling to Awra Amba, a unique cooperative community located. Tara Gedam, where guests visit the attractive forest with local flora is another attraction that travelers will visit. Guzara Palace is another Castel that is to be visited on the way to Gondar. Forty (40) minutes are required to visit this royal castle. Guests will next check in to their hotel and have lunch. Tourists can enjoy themselves by visiting traditional entertainment houses, like "Azmari Bet" in the evening.
From kings and churches to emperors and castles in Ethiopia's Historic route that you never missed visiting is called the 'Camelot' of Africa, Gondar.
Gondar is a Royal and ancient historical city in Ethiopia. It is the home of many Emperors and Princess who led the country from the 12th century to the last decade of the 20th century.
The Royal Enclosure is surrounded by high stone walls containing the 17th-century palaces of King Fassiladas, King Iyasu, and Queen Mintiwab, and different other buildings and Debre Birhan Sillassie are attractions that will be visited before lunch. After having lunch, visit Kuskuwam church which is a royal compound built by Empress Mintiwab and Fassillades bath a place where the epiphany celebration takes place are tourist sites to be visited in the afternoon.
Famous for its dramatic highland scenery, the Simien Mountains National Park constitutes a world heritage site, and the mountains’ jagged peaks (ambas) frequently serve as a backdrop to Ethiopian tourist initiatives.
You will depart Gondar early in the morning to Debark. After arranging a guide and scout with the park office in Debark, a drive to Sanqaber will start. One can get to Sanqaber, either driving the whole way or by hiking after a car drop-off near Buahit. If you want to hike, you Will have a beautiful view of the landscape and endless mountain ridges, and you may see some gelada baboons. Sanqaber will be the first campsite for your trip.
While you travel From Sankaber to Geech, you will follow the ridge and look out over the foothills of 800m down. From the ridge, you will descend down into the valley and be able to view the Jinbar River plunging into the Geech Gorge. After some time at the waterfall, you will go to Geech village where you will find your second campsite.
After taking breakfast at Geech campsite, you will hike through the grass plateau that is home to Giant Lobelia plants. After two hours trip, you will reach Imet Gogo with an amazing 360-degree view of the Simien Mountains and an altitude of 3,926m. After visiting a canyon, distant ridges, and valleys seemingly never-ending, you will return to Geech, on the way you will pass through Siha Gorge for a lunch break. In the evening, you can hike to Kedadit for sunset.
A seven (7) hours hike to the southeast to visit one of the most spectacular passing in the mountains will be started after eating breakfast. After climbing up to Innatye, you can see a vertical drop local named mama mia. Here you will have lunch and continue on towards Chennek where you will be able to view the wildlife like Walia Ibex and Gelada baboons, and plant life (Giant Hazel).
After breakfast, you will hike for 2 hours to get to Buwahit (4,200m). From here you can look out towards your hike for tomorrow, Ras-Dashen. You will follow the path down towards Meseha valley and cross a river and return travel to Ambiko where you will camp for the night.
The big trek to the peak of Ras-Dashen will begin early in the morning through the main valley before sunrise. You will start ascending the mountain with a steep climb within the Giant Lobelia plants. The last part of the hike will likely be very challenging, but very rewarding when you are able to reach the highest point in Ethiopia. At 4,543m you will have amazing views of the immense landscape. You will arrive at Ambiko campsite for the night in the evening.

Transfer to Gondar (Atse Tewodros) Airport or Back to Bahir Dar.
